Experience one of parks with more scenic beauty before the presence of the imposing Sajama Snow Peak. The 4-hour trip from La Paz is very well rewarded once you start seeing lagoons with Andean flamingos, queñua forests and wetlands with large populations of llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and vizcachas (family of the rabbits).Other optional visits:
At 6:00 am, we pick you up from your hotel to start the trip across the Bolivian Altiplano. Our destination is the department of Oruro where the Sajama National Park is located at an altitude of more than 4200 meters above sea level and where we will be pride to look at the highest mountain of Bolivia: Sajama Snow Peak (6542 meters).
On our way to the park, we will visit the Church of Curahuara de Carangas, one of the oldest in the continent called the ‘Sistine Chapel of Altiplano’ because of the beauty of the paintings in its rooms.
Then we will arrive at Sajama National Park. First, we visit Lake Huayna Kota where we will observe Andean flamingos before enjoying a bath in the thermal waters near the village of Sajama. In the afternoon, we will walk through the queñua forest, an endemic subspecies in the area. This is the woody formation that grows at a higher altitude in the world, and we will have the chance to see vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. Return to La Paz
